LemmyNZ is hosted in a data centre in Auckland, and costs around $60NZD per month to run.

If making the donation will materially affect you, PLEASE DON'T DONATE! Lemmy.nz is not going to die if you don't donate. Please only donate if you have plenty of money, but if you can donate on a regular basis without it materially affecting you, then please consider a regular donation.

Also, it's only a "donation" in the loosest form of the word. It's not a tax deductible donation as we aren't registered as a charity or approved donee organisation. It is simply a contribution to the costs of running LemmyNZ.

Given that anyone can make a donation, I'm not keen on having my details publicly available. It's one reason I picked this service.

Happy to add another service if it let's me not have my identity on a public page. Happy to do bitcoin or something if someone can tell me how to turn it into money!

Keep up the good work @dave@lemmy.nz. I can't donate further to lemmy than running my own instance, and in fact I'm having to rationalize some of my IT/domain (just about to drop a couple of domains*) spend.

If you can do all of lemmy.nz for under $50 a month I think you are doing well

Does anyone want to buy a buggerme.*.nz domain?

Don't worry about it! Like I said, Lemmy.nz is not at risk of shutting down any time soon. Just trying to help our hosts get a sustainable funding stream 🙂

I don't need any more domains I don't use, I've done a massive cull the last few years and I think I'm down to only one I'm not using at all 😅
