Summary

Experts warn of worsening health outcomes after the Trump administration, led by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., cut 10,000 health jobs and slashed $11.2B in federal funds.

The layoffs, part of a broader ideological overhaul, targeted experts in smoking prevention, STDs, lead poisoning, and firefighter cancer research.

Critics call it “gaslighting” under the slogan “making America healthy again.” The CDC’s ability to manage outbreaks like measles, HIV, and bird flu is weakened.

The administration has yet to clarify the scope or strategy of the cuts.

If you guys had free healthcare you’d still abandon it.

Wonder how many of ~~you~~ the world will watch their wives or children die of cancers that could’ve been prevented with mRNA advancements. Oh well, good job on the economy tho.

I mean, I've work in healthcare a number of years. The change in general patient health pre and since the start of Covid is wild. People are so much sicker now when they come into the hospital. And during Covid, that was just because they couldn't see their doctors outpatient as easily, get procedures, etc. This is a no brainer and it's incredibly sad
