Nah the first half of the 21st century is very rough in the Star Trek universe. We're right on track ~~(not really, I think we're fucked long term)~~ but it sucks to be the ones to live through it.
I thought Star Trek universe also happened after a major event that was because of politics?
Yeah, the Bell Riots are considered to be one of the biggest turning points for humanity in Star Trek.
