If they're unrelated, why do you bring it up?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 11 months ago

Because it sounded funny?

[-] m0darn@lemmy.ca 6 points 11 months ago

If you were to be without electronics for a one month vacation what would you do for entertainment?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 11 months ago

Books, walking and cycling! Though doing sports without electronics would be a challenge for me.

[-] m0darn@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 months ago

What's your favorite book, or genre?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 11 months ago

I love dystopian science fiction, but really, anything where the story and the characters are nuanced and imperfect. Where the "good guys" are conflicted and sometimes selfish, and where the "bad guys" are human.

Do you ride a bike? If you do what bike do you have?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 11 months ago

I ride a Merida Scultura 200, which is like Baby's First Real Roadbike :)

[-] Mcballs1234@lemmy.ml 3 points 11 months ago

Thats a super cool bike, I ride a marlin 8 gen 2 and I've only injured myself a few times

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 11 months ago

Oh, a cross country bike! That sounds like it would only be a matter of time before I came off it :P

[-] Mcballs1234@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

I've never ridden a road bike, what's it feel like and whats your average speed?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 11 months ago

It's so light! It's interesting, because when I read reviews, they all comment on how heavy it is compared to more expensive road bikes, but coming from my background with a hybrid, the road bike is SO light.

I mostly use it for commuting though, as a way of keeping up my fitness, and cross training for my running, which is my main interest. I average about 22km/h on my commutes. Much faster when I do dedicates rides on bike paths, but I don't do them so much

[-] Mcballs1234@lemmy.ml 1 points 11 months ago

I personally like aluminum frames better than steel or carbon because its a good in between light and sturdy.

I've been training for a 100 mile dash on my bike and I'm trying to get my average from 13 mph to 15 mph. I love my bike, I take my bike through the worst weather conditions like snow and rain and its so fun. What's your before meal preparation for bike rides?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 11 months ago

Generally nothing more than a coffee.

I get up early, I have my coffee, and then I ride. I eat on the other side of the ride :)

[-] Mcballs1234@lemmy.ml 1 points 11 months ago

Really, I would suffer if I didn't eat anything and I would be going slower than a running chicken.

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 11 months ago

I tend to run and ride early in the morning, and if I eat first, I lose momentum and then feel heavy during the run.

[-] Semenaisse@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

What was the drama? Can you link it.

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 11 months ago

I defederated lemmynsfw from the instance I admin

[-] Thedogspaw@midwest.social 3 points 11 months ago

Are you against nsfw content in general or just on your instance

[-] Steeve@lemmy.ca 12 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

She mistook an onlyfans model for underage (she wasn't) and decided a community was made for models that are or look underage because it has "adorable" in the name (it isn't). She demanded the lemmynsfw admins remove the community and content (they didn't), and she defederated her instance from it, hence the drama. One of the biggest instance dramas of Lemmy so far! We really need a community for this shit.

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 11 months ago

Oh look, there's the drama!

[-] Steeve@lemmy.ca 5 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Are you uh, surprised it was brought up? After you mentioned it in your AMA post? Lol

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone -2 points 11 months ago

I'm surprised it took this long :)

[-] mysoulishome@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Does anyone care if 1 instance defederates when there are hundreds to choose from?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 11 months ago

Neither. Our instance is home to several nsfw communities

What's something you wish you could tell a younger version of yourself and why?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 11 months ago

"You have ADHD. Do something about it, or it will sabotage you for years, without you knowing why you can't do the things everyone else seems able to do"

[-] Pxtl@lemmy.ca 3 points 11 months ago

I'm iny 40s and finally got help from a doctor about it after getting the runaround for decades.

Oh my God I am so retroactively angry.

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 11 months ago

Yep. I got diagnosed after my kiddo did, and it's hard not to be angry at all of the missed opportunities and losses that it has caused me, because I simply wasn't equipped to understand or work around the executive function deficits

[-] audiomodder@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 11 months ago

How do you feel about people who kiss server admin butts?

Also, why are you so awesome?

[-] ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)
