You should be able to right click the 2fa link and manually paste that into your app.

expanding on the other commenter’s response, inspect the 2FA link, you should be able to see the secret/seed token string, and possibly also which algorithm it is. In your 2FA app, choose the option to enter manually. Remember to verify. Sometimes it might not work because you might also need to fiddle around with the other parameters/configurations when entering in manually.
Thanks for the additional info! Thankfully, it worked in ProtonPass 1st try and gave legit 2FA codes, without needing to change any further settings.
I was aware that some authenticators run into errors with Lemmy for one reason or another, but that was forunately not the case here.
