Hey all. I’ve been looking for a small, basic USB-C hub with pass through power. Like literally just 4 USB-C ports, a short cable and a USB-C power in. No extra nonsense, just a minimal way to connect an SSD, a monitor, and power to my deck, and charge a peripheral if necessary. It seems unreasonably hard to find! Any suggestions?

I don’t use this for my Steam Deck ever but it works great for my MacBook. I found mine cheaper on eBay.

To be honest, I haven't really seen any usb-c only hubs. All the Steam deck focused ones are covered up with USB-A ports and at least one HDMI.

Looking on amazon, I see this one and this one. Is that the kind of thing you're looking for? Edit: ok, looking at those further they don't actually support video over usb-C. Here's one with 4 usb-c ports and video output.

That last one is exactly what I’m looking for, thanks

You could just get a cheap adapter and a pack of a to c adapters.

I got my adapter from AliExpress https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806910619920.html

I have a few of those, but the Mokin hub suggested by u/Fubarberry above is exactly what I was after, I’m trying to get it to be as tiny as possible.

USB-C supports a lot more than USB-A does. Buying a USB-A dock and then using type-C adapters will limit the functionality to whatever the original USB-A or adapter supports (whichever one has lower capabilities will set the limit). It won't support display over usb-c for example.

UGREEN has a nice one with 3 normal USB and one USB C. Went with it because it folds up nice for packing and the dock to deck cord is removable so I can easily use a different cable if I want to use it with my laptop.

Tragus makes one. It's okay. Out of 30 users I hear that they sometimes need to reseat it when it stops working. Might be related to the users connecting it to a docking station and reconnecting a laptop to it once or twice a day.

I’ve had a scootch through their website, but it seems that all their products have hdmi/USB-A on them somewhere, I just want USB-C and pass through power. Was there a specific one of their devices that does that? I may well have missed it, they seem to make a whole lot of stuff!

Ahh, that's right, they are c to a.
