We got to know the music some time ago on holiday in Ostend in the pub βManuscriptβ (always good music there).
Damn, thanks for the suggestion. Jaune Toujour is like an artist I didn't knew existed but was longing for.
Did you listen to the new one: Kaat Van Stralen - Ik Weet Hoe Het Werkt. Damn itβs good.
She's amazing. I've witnessed her emerging at Het Depot - Leuven and enjoyed every part of it. She has a strong message, a powerfull delivery and somehow it feels like she instantly and rightfully claims her presence in the Belpop hall of fame. Like she's always been there. Such a presence.
This is a tough one, I've been racking my brain the whole day. In the end I've settled on Sardonis - Nero d'Avola
I see my ListenBrainz disagrees: De Mens - Jeroen Brouwers Schrijft Een Boek, and Pepe - Aan U De Keus
De Mens certainly opened my eyes for Flemish rock.
Any similar acts you recommend? Besides Belgian Asociality and Channel Zero, not much comes to mind. Gauging from the releases list of Music Mania store in Ghent, there is quite a vibrant scene that's passing me by, but I'm very picky, so always open to recommendations if you have any!
