I don't think there is anything immoral with the concept of appreciating the naked human form by drawing it. The NSFW art communities have grown a lot in the last decade to have a healthier amount of diversity. In body shape fashion ethnicity gender etc. So I have faith being queer and aware on some level of the importance of diversity that your portfolio would likely be a healthy contribution the the NSFW art sphere
Kindness Kommunity
a version of !kindnesskommunity@feddit.cl that more people can access, since some people can’t seem to see feddit.cl communities. this one is primarily english-speaking but all language speakers can use this.
Omg thank you. Yes! I want to join the club and be part of that artist sphere. I'm inspired by art by Loish, Tasia M.S., the character designer/creator of Delicious in Dungeon, the anime shows Utena and Dragon Maid, and Sam Does Arts, and Savannah Alexandra on Youtube. My cartoon style is more based in retro Western styles like older Disney and Vivsiepop. My art style may change or not look the same between two drawings. I just needed to know it was okay and I'm so grateful to hear this. Thank you! Can't wait to share my stuff.
I wish you the best on your journey and i hope you get lots of awesome people to appreciate your art
The thing about morality is that it is subjective (granted there is some discourse on that whole topic).
Whether it is immoral - there are societal groups that would consider it immoral. There are also ones who wouldn't find anything wrong with it.
IMO, what ultimately matters is your own morality, and past that, how those you care about would view it (their morality).
Harmful is a whole other topic with a lot of facets though. That I can't help with.
Yes. I have no concerns about offending already oppressive communities like the hyper-religious Christian based ones. They will be offended by anything. I'm not worried about offending people who are mean and bigoted like those of the right-leaning, since the things they are offended by are absurd and numerous. I'm more concerned about how it would impact people I consider to be in my own community as an lgbt+ person. I've gotten some helpful feedback on this subject though. I'm grateful, this isn't something that's easy to talk about IRL. Because I have no friends irl (.-.) Hehe. Autism strikes again. Okay, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. Have a good day!
First off I'm cis/het and AuADHD, so, this colors my views on things in a number of ways.
I think that you ask a good question that has a few answers and other perspectives that are worth exploring. My "short-and-sweet" answer is:
No, I do not think that there is anything wrong with drawing nudity and sexuality, where it comes from a place of appreciation (either from the artist or audience) and is not exploitative or non-consensually demeaning (ie. there are some who have fetishes for being consensually demeaned and while not my thing, I'm not going to yuck their yum).
Some may argue that any depiction of women in a sexual context is objectification and immoral. I strongly disagree with those views and see them as a desire for puritanical sexual repression. That is not to say that the pornography industry does not have a history and present of exploitation - it does. However, I reject the notion that sexuality is inherently wrong/exploitative/violent as pure nonsense and, by all evidence, psychologically very unhealthy.
