Nah you all can have some lurk as a little treat. You deserve it!

But .. but what if someone downvotes me?

[–] Combativ@feddit.org 6 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It's really hard for me to not downvote this.

I want to. But I must say its a bit difficult. Almost all lemmy instances are a specific echo chamber of opinions, thoughts and political views. The moment I say even the smallest thing out of the “norm” im banned.

Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla.

No seriously, it's actually fun to comment on random things. Often the next day when I wake up I have a bunch of fun responses in my inbox.

I'm doing my part!

It's hard to engage with other posts when most of them are about Linux or American politics. Two things I don't really want to spent a lot of time engaging with.

Besides that it's mostly old memes which isn't worth commenting on.

Other niche communities I'm interested in are not that active. Even though I've posted in them Tue lack of engagement isn't a motivator.

You can't tell me what to do! I was told that I do not need to do what other people say I need to do! Which I guess means that I do need to do what other people say that I need to do! But then that means that I do not need to do what other people say I need to do! Do do people need I do need people tell do me need!

Does actively commenting but never posting count as lurking?

Some of us have nothing useful to contribute to society. Please don't shame us.

[–] Kyrgizion@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I feel like I already post too much lol. But that might be an artifact from my autism which always makes me feel like I'm not good enough or have nothing worthwile to contribute.

I'm doing my part by posting reaction images every day.

[–] thisismyhaendel@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago (3 children)

Ok really dumb question (this was an issue for me with Reddit during the before time as well): I seem to only notice threads that have existed for a while, so I normally see something similar to what I would have said already posted as a comment. Should I be using Lemmy differently, to see younger threads?

Sure when you ask like this, how could we resist?
