They basically showed how authoritarian they are by banning (and later unbanning) a bunch of porn and Elon Musk critical subreddits as well as some transgender and disability related ones.
Out of the loop
A community that helps people stay up to date with things going on.
Yeah very weird glitch that all those things were grouped together.. so strange
got the project_2025.exe virus
Order 66: Project 2025 Edition, has launched too early
Is white people Twitter still gone?
Not to mention the Luigi crackdown
I deleted my 5-year-old account just now. I was suspended for 3 days because of a comment I made in a post about actual Nazis, in which I called them bitchmade pussies. Real Nazis, screaming the N-word and waving swastika flags. I was "bullying" them, reddit said. I still have the text of the offending comment here, if you think I said something crazy:
spoiler
Bitchmade pussies. Shouting racial slurs and talking about being "ready to fight", knowing full well they have the cops protecting their worthless fucking asses, and they actually say "the cops will escort us" like that isn't the most fucking weak cowardly shit you could ever say when you're supposed to be up for a fight. If they had any fucking balls whatsoever, and if they had an even partially-coherent ideology, the cops would be enemy #1 to them, not their fucking schoolyard adult supervisors who will prevent the other kids from beating the shit out of them for running their mouths. Bootlicking cunts.
And then to have the audacity to whoop and holler like they achieved something as they scramble into the back of a fuckin' truck to escape. And look at them with their little uniforms, what the fuck kinda pissy little bitchboys have to go out and buy special matching shirts and leggings to show how scary they are? I've seen more threatening outfits in Spirit Halloween stores. The one dude actually sounded genuinely worried that a protestor got a hold of one of their flags. Like, "that's 11 dollars down the drain and I haven't got any more of my grandmother's electronics to pawn" levels of concern.
Fucking hell, what are they expecting to accomplish? They are PUSSIES. Frightened little cunts who scuttle away like roaches in a kitchen when the light is switched on. They aren't doing anything but giving cops overtime pay and providing a fun outlet for frustration for the rest of society when non-racists make a sport of trying to get their hands on them before the cops swoop in and rescue them.
I've had venereal diserase that was scarier than these expelled reddit mod-ass cunts.
Shit, maybe it was that last line that irked them! Regardless, I took that as a sign that it was time to move on, permanently. This wasn't the first issue I've had with reddit of course, but it was the final straw.
Welcome to mate, you made the right choice. We bash the fash together around here.
Ideally while remaining more respectful of pussies perhaps, but that's a stylistic choice.
Hell yea brother fuck nazis. Fuck em all the way
Several new accounts made direct targeted death threats at specific people working alongside Musk to destroy the US government. As this is not legal in the USA where the servers are Reddit axed the subs where this occurred. You can conclude for yourself why new accounts were doing this.
There were some NSFW subs that also got axed. Reddit has done this before and used the sane excuse of it being a bug. Again you can choose to decide if they are being honest about this but keep in mind Spez, the CEO, has repeatedly mentioned how difficult it is to legally manage NSFW material on the site and how investors hate it.
Do you have any sources about them being new accounts?
No because those threads have been nuked. When you see accounts calling for the deaths of specific people you should click on them because they often are new. This is true for any forum.
Don't take this personally, but this is c/OutOfTheLoop, not c/Conjecture.
"trust me bro" isn't helpful in these threads. For example, you went from "they are new accounts doing this" to "it's often new accounts". Wild difference.
Edit: downvoted for trying to be accurate, nice. In this thread someone replied that their 5 year old account got banned, which is hardly new: https://lemmy.world/comment/14984232
Also: the UK's ill-intentioned and poorly-executed age verification laws went into effect. Many people, quite correctly in my opinion, refused to share their personal information with an unknown "age verification" company, and thus left Reddit in search of smaller platforms where the law either does not apply or is not enforced.
