After seeing all those mask off moments in recent week I sorta start understanding their argument.

I think it doesn't matter if we're accelerationists or not because shits going to accelerate whether we like it or not.

I'm an asymptotal decelerationist. Things will continue to get worse forever, but the pace of the worsening will get slower and slower

We recognize that things are accelerating, and therefore it presents opportunities for revolutionary organizing. But those are not a sure thing, and the road will be very rough and many people will be hurt.

"Revolutionary pessimists" is probably where a chunk of us USAians are currently sitting.

We are not accelerationists, because we don't actually do anything to accelerate contradictions.

Not by choice, but by circumstance

Maybe revolutionary defeatist. There's a new cold war and I want the US to lose this one.

To be accelerationist, you must think that this will lead to better conditions for the working class here after the acceleration. I'm cheating for the death of the largest empire and largest obstacle to world peace in the world.

Accelerationism as a philosophy is generally pretty bad. Accelerationism is a tool, you must have the ability to seize the moment of acceleration to make change, most accelerationists on the left do not have a real answer for this, they merely believe that once everything is broken they can say "Told you so" and people will listen to them. It's childish.

Right wing accelerationists on the other hand have Peter Theil.

No.

However it won't stop me from getting the popcorn and seeing how this turns out, as we have no control over this anyway

[–] Sickos@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago

Yeah, we are now. Gotta play the hand you're dealt

[–] heartheartbreak@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

Both accelerationists and decelerationists. Accelerate the fire the us government is producing to its own detriment and decelerate the harm to the working class by all means necessary marx-joker

Yeah, you could say I'm an accelerationist.

A large portion of the userbase is suburban white liberals, so yeah.
