It's Saturday again! I keep missing Friday...

Still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed.

XC 3 is one of my favourite games, and it's so great to be back in that world. One thing I didn't realise was the timeline where the game takes place.

About 20 hours in, and story-vise I think I should be getting to the end, but it can still end up taking 10-20 hours.

Started Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS. I played the remake Tomb Raider on PS3, but since I skipped on PS4, didn't get to play the sequels, now finally gotten around to playing it.

I am really surprised at how well the game plays. The game doesn't feel aged at all, general game play, combat, puzzles, everything. Of course, it's possible that it's just me, cause I mostly play older games, but I have also played some latest games in between, like Spider-man 2, so it's not like I don't know how newer games are.

I am not very far into it, as spending most of my time with XC3: Future Redeemed, but I am loving everything I have played so far.

So, what about all you? What have you been playing?

Still slowly working my way through TLoZ Echoes of Wisdom. I managed to stay very far away from spoilers. I do make slow progress, as I get always distracted by exploring and trying to get to places that seem reachable but aren't quite accessible. I'm not 100% sure, as I do not stick to "the obvious route" to get to places, but it feels like I found a few minor skips. LOL

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! It was nice to play a Zelda game without feeling it take over my whole life for a year.

A friend convinced me to try out Orcs Must Die: Deathtrap. I get to play a snarky, dual wielding, bipedal cat. Silly and entertaining. Thought about grabbing the new Spiderman game on PC, but I think I am gonna wait for a couple of patches given the reviews. Have fun!

How is the newest OMD? I liked the old stuff but I'm wary of putting down ~$30 to play the same stuff I did ten years ago.

I am enjoying it a great deal. However, I did not play any of the previous iterations, so there is plenty of novelty for me. The trap mechanics are fun, and the Threads add some variety to specific runs, even though there are not that many maps at the moment. I have not had any technical issues, and playing in a friend-from-across-the-pond's lobby worked well.

I think I have a Orcs Must Die game somewhere in backlog. Should take a look at it.

Slow week for gaming.

It's my first week of vacations but I've been really stressed/anxious recently and I find it very hard to "wind down" quickly to be able to do longer playing sessions. Hopefully I'll be more relaxed next week to put energy the two games below and try to finish at least Fantasian before Trails through Daybreak 2 releases.

Replaying Tales of Graces f Remastered!

Good progress here, finished the desert section and arrived at the Arena.

Playing Fantasian Neo Dimension!

Very minor progress on this one, but there's news worth commenting. Last week I mentioned some control annoyances and long loading times, and there was a patch this week addressing both.

Control issues were fixed, and while it's not listed in the patch notes the battle loading times are down 35-40% from my estimates. This will definitely make it more enjoyable when I resume playing this one properly.

Oooh, vacations! How many do you have?

Glad to see them patching Fantasian.

Oooh, vacations! How many do you have?

30 days/year, and I'm taking all of them at once. Since I take a long time to unwind I always need a long stretch of vacations to recover properly.

[–] slimerancher@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Wow, that's great. I want 30 days at once! But we don't even have 30 days total.

I keep seeing you post about Xenoblade and I remember now I tuned out before the expansion pass content was complete! Not this weekend, but soon…

I’ll be working on my 1000-piece Breath of the Wild puzzle this weekend. I’m at a tough part now (I just spent an hour to put in 17 pieces), but I still have the entire outside of the puzzle waiting for when I need to give myself some confidence.

I’m hoping to finish off the penultimate Great Ace Attorney case this weekend, but I don’t have a clue who to even suspect yet, so that might be a later in February goal.

Jigsaw puzzles! I love those, don't have a place to keep a big open for a long time though.

Xenoblade is great, it's not for everyone though.

Rise of The Tomb Raider is probably the best of the new trilogy. I have a fondness for games with snow and, like you said, it plays very well.

Also makes for beautiful screenshots,

Literally cannot find anything new and interesting recently. Done all Zelda, Paper, "Mario..." etc.

Guess I'll fire up ACNH and pluck some weeds......

[–] slimerancher@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Not sure what you like, but maybe take a look at indie scene?

About to end my playthrough of Metroid prime 3. At least it looks like it

Cool, planning to start Metroid Prime: Remake next.
