I upgraded from a 13 Pro to a 15 Pro. So far the only internet I’ve connected to since I got the phone is at home, but with 2 different networks (one is 5g but otherwise same router and everything).

I never updated the 13 Pro to iOS 17 because I knew I would be upgrading soon, but I never had this issue with any former phone and have been on this same internet setup since 2016.

I have an iPad Mini 6 that I did update to iOS 17, and it’s fine.

I’ve tried resetting network settings, turning off Wi-Fi assist, turning off networking and wireless in location services-> system services (saw that as a potential fix), and restarting multiple times, but it still randomly drops my WiFi signal on both home networks.

Everything else wrt network/connection on my previous phone is the same - VPN setup, etc.

My SO has a 14 pro & did update to 17 and does not have this problem.

Does anyone have any ideas? I’ve searched for answers and I see that this has been an issue off and on for the past few years, but one of the fixes I mentioned above usually seems to help I guess because I haven’t seen any other suggestions.

Could it be the phone itself? Is it worth exchanging it for another one before the 2 weeks runs out?

Thanks everyone.

Upgraded from 12 pro to 15 pro. Was running iOS 17 for a few days before the 15 arrived

Didn’t notice a difference on the 12 with iOS 17. Immediately saw a difference with the 15.

If I’m in an area of my house that has a weaker signal the 15 will sometimes drop all together. Spots that are typically stronger I’m seeing weaker signals on the 15.

Now I’m trying to move my extenders around just to cater to my phone and it’s a pain in the ass. I was hoping I’d see an improvement being able to use wifi 6E finally but it seems worse.

Thanks for sharing your experience, it’s helpful :)

Did you try turning off Wi-Fi Assist?

Settings->Cellular->Scroll down to the first option under the list of apps

That may help, I don’t know think it did anything for me though. I also tried changing VPN configs this afternoon & so far it’s been stable for the past couple of hours, who knows ¯\(ツ)

Maybe you guys have already checked but typically I go to Apple support Forum https://discussions.apple.com/search?q=iPhone+15+Pro+wifi&source=aml&origin=asc_serp Or the Apple subreddit Discord server https://discord.gg/apple there’s former Apple employees that help with support.

I did check there, it appears to be an issue across multiple phones and versions of iOS and has been going on for at least a few years now.

It does what’s described here, but Reset Network Settings didn’t help anything.

I did try switching from my usual VPN to another I was trying before the subscription was up on my old one (for reasons unrelated to this), and that has been working okay for a few hours now.

But I’m confused because it’s the same VPN that I used on my 13 pro, my iPad Mini 6, my SO’s 14 pro, and my MacBook. Never had any issues until this phone+iOS. 17 is still working fine with the VPN on the Mini & 14 pro though.

So, I have no idea what it could be, lol
