It's been a week since the killing of the health insurance exec

I have some thoughts.

The one thing the US general population and the media have not been discussing is that one of the big reasons insurance feels so expensive is because wages are one third the buying of what they were in the 1970s.

Low real wages is why everything feels so expensive.

And then there is denial of treatment or only allowing less expensive but less efficacious treatments. This makes people angry and they would probably be less angry if insurance was cheaper.

There has been no discussion of what governments have been doing and should be doing to stop insurance industry fraud and abuse. Using the justice system is not discussed or has been dismissed as being pointless.

There are still few statements by any politicians other than statements saying killing with guns is bad.

Every statement by medical workers has been anti-insurance. They hate the insurance industry more than anyone. Newspapers have not interviewed one single health care worker about their experience.

I've been watching House, the tv series. Not one episode shows the time consuming battle doctors and admin have to go through to get the ok and to get money. That's not very realistic is it. Maybe we need a show where the battle isn't against germs but against insurance and the clock

I feel like I should really reduce my screen time or at least social mediaโ€ฆ the stress and brainrot are real. Itโ€™s just hard when there are barriers to doing stuff physically or outside.

Reading and art are the obvious things but Iโ€™m also pretty brain fogged. Maybe Iโ€™ll just start playing single player games again

For fucks sake is everybody on the road today off their fucking heads? 2 near misses in the last 15 minutes!

1 bloke ran a stop sign and almost t boned us. Not a care in the world. Not even a sorry wave

We stopped to let a car in, and some munted tradie floored it out of a driveways a bit further down the road. He very nearly hit the person we let in. The person in front of us had to swerve into the gutter on the other side of the road to prevent it...

Green is us, yellow is the bloke we let in, red is the fuckwit that floored it out of the worksite without bothering to look

Edit: another dickhead just tried to turn into us. Couldn't even be arsed indicating. People need to fuck off and go get a fucking brain, did they get their license out a fucking box of cereal

The crying of lot 49. I don't think I've read a book that sets up one premise and pivots to something else so quickly. It's impressive how much is packed into such a short book. I feel like I need to read about it then read it again
