I mean the Wii is a pretty new console right? It's like no more than a decade old right.... Right? Oh... Oh no.

The Soviet Union was officially dissolved in 1991, though it started falling apart in 1988.

Like three years of difference between the distance between today and the Wii coming out vs when the Soviet Union fully dissolved and the Wii's release date. So this would have been a relevant revelation around the time the OLED Switch came out.

Strapless / bumperless Wiimotes probably sold more new TVs than my local Best Buy. So many TVs died from a Wiimote to the face.

At least the Wii brought joy to peoples lives. Can’t say the same about the Soviet Union.

I like this idea of comparing the Soviet Union to the Wii. Like the Wii allows me to play golf in my living room. Can’t say the same about the Soviet Union!

The Wiimote broke my TV. Can’t say the same about the Soviet Union!

When I was born WW2 was as recent as the release of the PlayStation is now.
