Yes, this is how insurgencies work

Seems like an effective strategy—someone write that down!

Right when Israel needed it*

If you're reducing Syrian resistance activities to "because Israel" then you should learn... well, anything about the Syrian civil war.

It's not just zios but also the cia, etc. There's a long, widespread, and overt history of imperialism in the middle east. It's alot for anybody to know, but the fundamentals are very simple.

In Syria, militias armed by the Pentagon fight those armed by the CIA

They didn't reduce the entire war to that, and Syrian history says Israel is heavily involved in Syrian affairs and for many years bombs syria at least once a month, sometimes several times week.

IDF chief finally acknowledges that Israel supplied weapons to Syrian rebels

Of course people rightfully have a gripe with Assad. The point is with their attack timing these rebels are basically directly fighting for Israel, whether knowingly or not.

What makes you think they are heavily aligned with America? HTS is largely the continuation of al-Nusra, al-Qaeda aligned. Them and the US mostly ignored and avoided eachother as they were both fighting different enemies: the former the Assad regime and the latter ISIS.

Their brand new American M113 APC's do not leave a lot to the imagination.

What makes you think they didn't get them from Turkey?

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com -2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What makes you think turkey isn't an imperial ally who got those weapons from usa?

[–] nonailsleft@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

Following the news on their internal politics, (for example)

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world -3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Well those are American troop carriers and Turkey is aligned with the USA so it is obvious where they came from. The American Al Tanf base is also training those rebels.

I think it's pretty funny that you regularly post news articles that entirely destroy your entire position, except for perhaps some sole sentence of paragraph which you need. (Even that's not the case here, there's nothing about a US base being used to train anyone, let alone HTS)

In this case if you'd spend even one minute reading your lovely article you'd see the errors in your previous posts here

I see your point but honestly in their place being concerned with yourself first and foremost with yourself is perfectly acceptable. If Syria is the hill Iran and Russia want to die on then that's frankly not Syrian rebels' business. Put another way, imagine if someone said Hamas should stop operations because they're indirectly helping Iran who supports Assad. Ignore for this hypothetical that Israel supports ISIS out of all groups.
