Today I went in to ask for a raise after finding out someone hired 6 weeks ago is making more than me, even though I've been there since the restaurant opened, General Manager said after 90 days I'd get a performance review. I mentioned them getting paid more and he went off on me, and said that they had a policy against discussing wages, when I let him know that was illegal he doubled down, threatened to fire me for discussing wages, and then I got another manager involved and recorded the conversation with all of us, he then threatened to fire me for insubordination because I guess it's insubordinate to let them know federal law?
I filed a complaint with NLRB, and will be with my states Labor board tomorrow.
