Duplicate posts? (feddit.uk)
submitted 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) by UKFilmNerd@feddit.uk to c/liftoff@lemmy.world

At first I thought this was due to different instances but looking closer, it's the same post duplicated. I think this is the first time I've seen them together.

I've seen double posts before but they were separated in the timeline, so I put it down to instances.

Anyone else seen this?

I sometimes see a series of 2-3 posts duplicated right after each other in my feed.

Example:

Post A on instance X

Post B on instance Y

Another copy of post A on instance X

Another copy of post B on instance Y

Same happens to me, incidentally just before I saw this thread. I always thought this might be the case when the next batch of content is loaded, but due to new posts the order has changed. No idea if that's the actual reason, though.

I get this fairly often though usually not right next to each other like that. Not sure how active development is for liftoff anymore though, so hard to tell if this is something that'll get any attention.

Kinda agree with this. While I post this reply on Sept 17, 2023 - I see in F-Droid that Liftoff was last updated on July 30, 2023. When demands for Lemmy Apps are at an all-time high, this might indeed seem slow. Jerboa appears to be updated more frequently (from which I am typing this).

But I have tried Liftoff already once, and I really liked it. - ~~So hoping it would be updated soon !~~

Update : and just read that the Liftoff Dev just became a parent of twins. Incidentally I also did last month - So I know what kind of mental, physical and emotional drain that can be on your life. Congratulations to the Dev !!

Ah, kids. Yeah that'll take a toll on your free time for a long while. That makes sense. I still use liftoff over other apps and it has been working like a champ even without updates. If the dev ever gets back to working on it, that'll keep it on the top of the apps for me.

Not quite the same but I saw a few bots earlier, exactly the same reply down to the typos.
