How would this compare to the CubeXX? I'm just starting to think about getting one of these systems so I'm looking into options. I watched the comparison video posted the other day, and pretty much picked that one out of the options he presented. I definitely like the horizontal style over the vertical, and the CubeXX looked to be the best of their budget options in that regard.

In reading up a bit, it looks like the RG406 line is Android-based, while the CubeXX uses their own custom OS. And the RG406's T820 CPU appears to be quite a bit better than the H700 on paper. And square vs rectangle screen, obviously.

What does that get me in the real world? Can the RG406 handle more/newer systems? Better or different features? The video the other day implied that there were alternative OSes I could try, is that a thing here for the Android ones too?

Looks like it's about a $150 price difference, at least based on the CubeXX ($95) and the existing RG406V ($249). 2.5x is a pretty big difference!

So I guess I'm curious if it's worth it or not? Primarily looking to run SNES/Sega and earlier, but there are definitely a handful of N64, PS1, and PS2 games that I'd love to play again if possible.

For the OS, with the Android ones there are usually very few to no alternative options, mostly batocera (but you will have to wait a bit until a version for this one gets made). The CubeXX should handle up to ps1/n64, but you would need a device like this for ps2/gamecube. I personally don’t think it’s worth it as I mainly want to play N64/SNES/Arcade on a device like this, but I do have a steam deck which does up to switch so maybe you decide differently.
