Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

I’m trying not to be like those “China is collapsing” people but for israel so call me when it happens I guess

Tbf China isn't at war. This is more like being a "Russia is collapsing" person.

[–] blame@hexbear.net 25 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Even that isnt right. Russia is a much bigger country and isnt at total war with itself.

Russia's economy is the best performing in Europe right now by far - by far. It's performing better than most advanced economies, even.

[–] PigPoopBallsDotJPG@hexbear.net 6 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Isn't part of that just due to the fact that it's a war economy?

[–] CTHlurker@hexbear.net 14 points 10 months ago

Russia is sort of in a war economy, but the bigger reason they're doing well is because the sanctions have forced Russia to abandon the dumbest parts of neoliberalism and instead to rely on import substitution. The sanctions also prevents the ruling class in Russia from taking their money and putting them elsewhere, which means that Europe kind of introduced capital controls on Russia, which is really funny considering Europes fierce opposition to them in any other context.

You know what they meant lol

It was a worthless comment, but I do think that the Russia watchers are less unhinged than the China watchers, because Russia has much more real trouble. Likewise, I think it's not that unhinged to view the zionist entity as getting closer to collapse.

I really want to like Owen Jones but he has been such a little sheepdog for the Labor Party for years and years

He's part of the trots that have been utterly obsessed with failed entryism in the party forever. His parents were Labour Militant, which was IMT/Socialist Appeal now rebranded as RCP (Revolutionary Communist Party). Pretty fair to assume that he's on the same ideological path and organising as his parents.
