Piracy on iOS? Come on now… what region? 9/10 people do not jailbreak or are in a region where they cannot side load by default.

It was never about piracy and always about control.

They want a kill switch so they can sell you a new copy of the game in the future.

Don't be silly, Capcom would never make a new version of Resident Evil 4.

According to an estimate by AppMagic (via mobilegamer.biz), the iOS version of Resident Evil 7 has been purchased by nearly 2,000 users. The calculation comes from marketplace estimates, where this port has been downloaded nearly 83,000 times since its release on July 2. This has generated an estimated $28,140 for Capcom, which by Mobilegamer calculations, is to be around 2,000 users, considering Apple’s 30% platform cut and the $20 cost to unlock the full game.

Even with the low cost of porting $28,000 profit is abysmal.

Apple has so many bullshit rules in their App Store, unfortunately a non-bullshit rule requiring single player games to work offline isn't one.
