Azula always wears makeup in the series, except for one episode. A lot of people say that she looks quite different without the makeup.

Therefore the meme from Phineas and Ferb is used, where the guy is incredibly oblivious to Perry the Platypus' dressups and cant recognize him until he wears his distinctive hat.
