With Republican officials around the country like Allen putting a fresh focus on preventing noncitizens from voting — which is already illegal and rare — it’s naturalized Americans like Esternita Watkins who will be most affected by such voter roll purges, voting rights advocates and attorneys say.

so like, the federal government wasn't willing to assist with potentially breaking voting laws, so they decided the best idea was to do it anyway? Interesting. That being said, it looks like the intent was to prevent non-citizens from registering, but like the fact they didn't already have the information of who was a citizen vs non-citizen at hand is really weird

At least it's easy enough to fix, I figured it would be something that you couldn't fix on voting day, which is where most of the false positives will be discovered.

It's not the fixing part, it's the intimidation part. The one person felt like she was going to get in trouble or be "watched" if she tried to fix it.
