I was interested why I saw her during the day. I googled it and sounds like they sometimes need to stay up during the day to care for and feed their babies. Sounds a lot like humans with newborns.

Apparently, babies of all species keep their mamas' awake!

I think that's more common among mammals. There are quite a few species where the parents copulate and dip out leaving the children to fend for themselves.

This is mostly sad because humans' offspring are "useless" so to speak from a biological perspective.

Many wild animals are born "ready to go" and only need a little bit of time from their parents to become viable or sometimes none at all.

Humans on the other hand take 18 years to become capable and are a lifelong investment of your time if done right.
