we absolutely respect veganism and what it stands for but

VCJ RULES ! And also the rules:

  1. no unjerking

  2. no carnists/speciesists/non-vegans

  3. no seriousness/debating (no unjerking)

  4. moderator discretion is part of it; if you fail to reply in a short time to a moderator, you will be treated as a carnist troll.

  5. avoid gruesome content (normal for the animal pharming industry) or add content warnings

  6. no AI slop

  7. screenshots from nazi platforms need to be extra defaced

I mean, scientifically speaking, do you have any meta-analysis about imaginary cow rotationism?

Unless you suffer from aphantasia, that is.

[–] booty@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago

would the cow rotate without your intervention? are you actually rotating the cow with your mind powers or are you simply opening a mental gate through which you may observe the rotating cow? this is the important part for me

[–] DavidGarcia@feddit.nl 10 points 2 years ago

But only if it is Polish

2 questions:
Does the cow want to be rotated?
And what about udder physics?

[–] TWeaK@lemm.ee 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Lol not everyone can do that though.

Yup. A lot of people have trouble actually picturing stuff in their mind

Like I know what a cow looks like. I could paint one (badly but I think that's only kinda related). But I can't vividly imagine a cow

Hi, yes I have aphantasia too and can't picture things :) personally I remember being able to when I was younger but I lost the ability somewhere around my teens.

I'm sorry if this comes across as insensitively worded but...did you suffer any brain injury or anything when you were younger? Apparently we are now learning even just randomly hitting your head (not even hard) while the brain is still developing can have significant effects as you grow older.

[–] Kyatto@leminal.space 2 points 2 years ago

I don't really recall anything, maybe a random bump, I used to be rather clumsy. In my early 20s I definitely suffered some trauma though.

Is that what a level 5 vegan is? You can't even imagine killing a cow.

First, imagine a spherical cow in a vacuum

[–] Chee_Koala@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Now imagine it's you and the cow, sharing the vacuum.

When you picture a cow rotating in your mind; is it doing front flips? Backflips? Barrel rolls? Pirouettes?

[–] voodooattack@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

cries in aphantasia

[–] I_Miss_Daniel@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Easy as an STL in your favourite slicer.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Well now an imaginary cow is pissed at me thanks

[–] timewarp@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They can also rotate dogs and cats. Not much difference between rotating a cow in your mind vs a dog or cat.

[–] Crackhappy@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Well only one of them takes a swipe at you every time though.

You push the beans & they get means

Funny enough - ever checked out Redefine Meat's "New Meat" logo? It's a upside down cow...
