The US women's team did play extremely well in the 2019 world cup. You guys handed us our asses in the finals.

It's quite a drop from winners of the world cup to dropping out in the first round

Oh, the women's team is excellent, the nottheonion part is the headline implying the future of the United States is just now uncertain after losing a a world cup early. The future has been uncertain for a good while longer for much different reasons :')
