Can someone explain why he didn't run a party instead of independent? I don't understand UK politics, but if he had started a party, couldn't he have gotten more people like him in MP seats across the country?

Corbyn was only expelled from Labour in May. Now that he's reelected, there's more time to start a party

He had the whip removed then so he wasn't part of the parliamentary labour party. He was only expelled from the actual party after he chose to stand as an independent against the labour candidate.
