So disappointed (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 1 week ago* (last edited 3 hours ago) by Tazerface@sh.itjust.works to c/protonprivacy@lemmy.world

After using Protonmail free for a few years I upgraded to Mail Plus. No issues, works great. Last week I upgraded to Unlimited because it's only 50 cents more per month than paying for Plus and Simplelogin separately and I get much more out of it ... or so I thought.

I tried out Pass, Drive, and VPN and I just have to say how disappointed I am.

Pass - It has the option in the android app of adding custom fields but it doesn't work. The website has it but it's in black theme only which isn't something I can use without massive eye strain.

Drive - It has the option of uploading a folder but it doesn't work. Can't upload photos without installing an app. When photos are uploaded there isn't a search option. So now I have to delete all photos and re-upload them one folder at a time into a folder so they are organized.

VPN - The android app is in black theme only which will give me the aforementioned eye strain.

I just need to vent. Thanks.

Edit: Pass got an update and I've fully switched over from KeypassDX and I couldn't be happier.

I seem to be able to upload photos now without using the app. It's very strange. Couldn't do that before.

Overall I am happy I upgraded to Unlimited but I feel Proton needs a slow down and get more of their services further completed before introducing more services.

I get adding a dark theme but why go though the trouble of removing the white theme?

@Tazerface @hanrahan Why?
Think about who wrote the thing.

CERN. Large Hadron Collider.

Scientists and computer geeks (not in a derogatory way) whose main piece of scientific equipment is built underground.

You know, like, in a cave.

And, for troglodytes, "dark mode" IS the default mode.

Proton Pass wasn't written for people who might need to use it with any measureable amount of ambient lighting!

It is called Collider because they are working in the dark and bump into things and each other? /s
