MODERATORS
He wasn't just some Joe Schmoe employee, he was CEO and still calling all the shots until he actually sold off all his interests in 2017. He still owned about a quarter of it up until then.
I was making a joke about the lifetime ban not being very much of a punishment, as he is evidently not lifetime banned.
Really? Trying to prove something?
Bernie wasn't an owner decades ago, so he didn't have control of the company. That's simple.
I missed your "joke". But, the point is that if they were such good buddies, why did one level a lifetime ban on the other?
I find that most people don't know what they are talking about when it comes to Bernie
Not really. "Sold off" implies he sold the whole thing, when in fact he still had a 25% holding, was still CEO and was still very much involved with every big decision.
Flavio and Bernie together owned QPR from 2007 to 2011. They were literally business partners at the point Flavio got his ban and they continued to be after it. I dont know why you are adamant that they didn't have a good relationship.
Anyway, my only real point was that Bernie has done a shit load of dodgy stuff, always will be Mr. F1 and him and Flavio were best buddies. Nothing more.
Bernie started by selling motorcycle parts at meets. He ended up building a billion dollar industry. He built it. He didn't have a hundred chimps writing code in the back room. He did it. For that he is owed some respect. Is he eccentric? Sure. Did he do dodgy stuff as you say? Sure. I suppose if you take a review of self made billionaires you'll find those qualities in many of them. As far as Flavio being a buddy, I'm sure he himself questioned that through the years he ran his club in Monaco after he was banned.
Urgh. I have so many things to reply to this I could make it a TED talk.
But let's just say being a Bernie apologist, while denouncing Flavio is just... wild.
If that's wild to you, so is your own ignorance.
I'm the ignorant one? Interesting.
Ha! Too bad you weren't interested previously
