Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I just see the connection between campaigning on supporting the military, and later increasing the defense budget.

[–] Batman@sopuli.xyz 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

That may be, by then. But, we are at Now, now.

Continuing to toss up "what if's /what about when's", that no one seems to want to engage in as part of this discussion, is making you look like a shill.

[–] blazera@lemmy.world -2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

boy quite a few people have come in to engage. This is just...bonkers now, of course what politicians are planning for the future matters today. Like, Trump's not president now, so why worry about what he might do later?

Move the post. Shift the goal. Never stay on topic.

That is not what THIS particular thread/ conversation is about or trying to discuss. Go start your own post to discuss some "ever moving goal posts on a topic" shit.

What if the galaxy freezes overnight? What if we all go blind after our next blink? What if the Imaginary Pink Unicorn WAS real and decided to turn everyone inside out and sparkly? What if an alien invasion happens? What if they finally released Community the movie?

What if... Bigfoot is real and comes out of hiding to destroy humanity because they are sick of our constant bickering over stupid ass shit, imaginary lines and sky people?? ...Or, just can't take it anymore that we ever liked Devo??

Do you do this in real life conversations? That is exhausting. If you do, please think about going to see someone professional to talk to about it. Those close to you will appreciate it.

Nah, ive brought up Biden is likely to increase defense spending and stayed pretty firmly there. Your list of comparisons all have one stark difference to what I am saying, they are all impossibly unlikely. I dont think you'll be surprised in the future when Biden, again, raises defense spending. Just like we wont be surprised when next year is more record temperatures. Theyre both still very relevant to the present which is causing those futures.

Yo...

Like, Trump's not president now, so why worry about what he might do later?

That there, is an additional topic. As someone who deals with folks with mental issues, at least here we have written reference to the previous statement... and Im in a position i can pipe up about it.

And, "BiDeN iS LikEly tO ...." wasn'twhat this post suggested to discuss.

It shows true facts of words, said by a man who would want to be the leader of the military again, and points out the differences of respect shown to those who have, do and will serve.

You can conjecture, wonder, ponder, worry and fret all day long. Won't change an outcome you can't control and will waste your own time, basically doing nothing besides causing your own health issues, while you do. Of course, if my guess is right and I've been feeding a troll, your not actually worried or concerned, just sad and lonely trying to upset other people.

Thank you to all have served. Thank you for protecting the rights of your families, your neighbors and strangers of your community. No matter if you chose to, felt like there was no other option, or were drafted. You did what many of us could not. We appreciate your sacrifice for us more than words can convey.

Please remember the shit Trump says about those who serve to protect him and his country, what he thinks about them, and how he treats his fellow citizens. Most adults are couth enough to at least pretend to not be socioipathic psycho maniacs while in public.

OK, whelp... This has been fun but, that's the end of my online spree for this weekend. I have things to do and Jokers to catch. Hopefully this troll is full enough to go nap and leave the rest of the denizens alone for a bit!

Theyre not protecting shit, US military has exclusively invaded other countries the entirety of your life.

I'm convinced more by the other guy. Fun read though!
