First of all, Russia is not much different from the west in most respects. It's a form of capitalism that's quite similar to US as even BBC admits, except it's still hasn't deindustrialized. However, in terms of actual working conditions and social services it's far ahead of US. Meanwhile, if you think that the war in Ukraine is about oil then you're utterly off base. This is a proxy war between Russia and NATO over whose sphere of influence eastern Europe is going to be under.

However, my comment wasn't about Russia. It was about the Global South being liberated from western exploitation and imperialism. It's not Russia that's exploiting people across Africa, Lain America, and Asia but the west. Russia may be capitalist, but it is currently helping these countries shake off western oppression. That's undeniable.
