Unfortunately, I didn't get it to work. Neither in iTerm2, kitty or WezTerm.
it explicitly checks for the environment variable "TERM=xterm-kitty" if that helps.
Bruh, I specifically changed this variable, so I wouldn't have issues with ssh, because it doesn't work with TERM=xterm-kitty Edit: I figured I could just use a simple alias twt="TERM=xterm-kitty twt" in my shell config to fix this.
alias twt="TERM=xterm-kitty twt"
