Also, if you are ever pulled over and you are asked to get out of your car, you need to close the door behind you.

If the doors are open its the same thing as cops seeing your front door open. They can and will use it as an excuse to go through your car.

There is a thing with liability when the insurance is concerned, in the case where you leave your keys ignition and/or leave your car doors unlocked with thieves about.

I was just making a play with thieves and cops being alike in what they may do around your car. One would steal it, one would impound it, with some coke offering added.
