I'm sorry. I get a developper needs to eat but 100+ dollars for the lifetime is absolutely outrageous. That is more than some AAA games on release.
For some people, that's the price they paid for their entire low/mid-range Android phone.
That's for ultra which requires server costs. Ad free lifetime price is more reasonable (in some countries).
Server costs are nothing compared to what a lot of Lemmy instance admins are covering right now. The new price feels like robbery, as someone who got sync the first year it came out.
I would definitely contribute to my instance first but that's still not an available option on my preferred one

It pushed out a few hours after the open beta.make sure you're up to date.
I'm not disagreeing here with your sentiment, but I don't think comparing it to the cost of a AAA game matters. I'm sure you'll spend more time in Lemmy over the course of a lifetime than on one game.
Yup this is way over the top for some reason. $50 is more reasonable and I would still hesitate. It's a good app but there are many others too.
Plus its not clear if they still wont be selling our data to third party after premium !
Yeah, fuck him. Long time paying and vocal supporter here. I'll get the cracked version on Mobilism when it's released
