Ubisoft did what EA did with Titanfall 2 (Titanfall 2 was released inbetween Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.
it was primed to fail at the start., just to make "holiday targets"
My heart breaks every time I'm reminded of how much EA dropped the ball with Titanfall 2 :(
That timeframe was actually picked by Respawn higher ups. Jason Schrier mentioned it on his Twitter few years ago.
