I stumbled upon this issue on github:

But I didn't know or expect Kbin users can see what Lemmy users upvote or downvote their post. Is this indeed what Kbin users can do?

Kbin doesn't federate downvotes, so it only knows half of that, and can't display what it doesn't know.
