See everyone? Voting works.
Voting hasn't done shit yet but put their asses on seats. Let's check again in two years and see how they'll have ridden this blue wave.
Let's be real, even stymieing Trump's agenda, which is a certainty already, is progress.
If all the D's manage to do with a majority is stymie, the fascists have already won.
Massive investigations and the promise of criminal prosecution for all traitors and corruption are the bare minimum.
Yes, the fascists won in 2024...
D's only have a narrow majority now. That's only enough to reject R legislation. It's not enough to override a veto and it's not enough to remove him from office.
I didn't say that they should waste time trying to remove Trump. I said investigations and the promise of executing those criminal prosecutions, so that 2028 is a referendum on prosecuting every pedophile, con artist, lobbyist, traitor, and war criminal associated with fascism; especially the ultra wealthy and their CEO's.
The next two years should be filled with building and documenting the evidence, so that an antifascist DOJ can start excising the rot from all branches of society on day 1.
How are they gonna do that?
Pretty much everything trumps done (ICE goons, Iran war, tariffs) he's done through executive power. He hasn't gotten congressional approval for any of it and the only ones who can make him do that is the supreme court which is still GOP controlled.
The only thing he got passed was the big beautiful bill and congress can't repeal that while trump still has the veto.
It's already done more than the alternative. Doing something with the power is secondary to getting the chance to in the first place.
If no one showed up tonight, there wouldn't even be that chance.
If the Democrats screw it up, it still isn't a referendum against voting.
It will be a referendum to vote third party, however
We all remain tentative, but let's enjoy this moment of hope
