That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

It's always interesting to see what it takes for someone to leave reddit. It wasn't all the bullshit before, but this is was over the line for this user. How much more can they keep getting away with before a tipping point? The standards people have today are so eroded.
It's like the boiling frog problem
The last straw for me was getting rid of sorting by Hot on my main feed, effectively making it useless. I don't want to sort by Best that shows posts from days ago, get that Facebook shit out of here. Also there was a new tab that interspersed "recommended posts" in your main feed. It's an option now but I doubt it would be in the future. The point of having a curated feed is to see shit you're subscribed to, not whatever engagement slop is on r/popular.
For me it was new reddit, saw what was coming and spent a lot less time there (yes I used old mode still), then the API changes and mass banning of subreddits sealed the deal. Never returned.
on mobile they are far more intrusive, when you backspace they reload the page, and sends you to the top of the feed on old mobile, and zooms in for no reason, its designed to make old reddit as unpleasant as possible so you are forced to use the new reddit UI, which is worst, because in the newer one, it eventually slows the loading page for so long you have to close the browser to reset it. they eventually want people to use the APP, so they can datamine your device as well.
ah! That explains why I had day-old posts suddenly creep up in my feed, I was already wondering about that ...
reddit definitely made a change months ago , that shows you old post. they want people to engage with older posts, that are useless.
There's no use in interacting with posts, say, 8 hours old or so. Maybe less. Everybody has already moved on.
Edit: that's why I like the slower pace of the Fediverse, it's like the old messages boards I grew up with, with posts that simmered for days/months and there wasn't endless scrolling to steal your attention.
Yeah, I remember being super excited in 2005 or so to check my forum threads and see where I had gotten replies. Conversations were often still measured in weeks back then.
Proves that convenience is the stopper. Steam and netflix can attest. Make it hard, I'll hit the high seas.
You need to remember there's addiction involved too. That will cause people to accept more awful than they normally would.
the new UI is the doom scroll addiction nonsense, that reddits is tried to force.
Dude pull your head out of your ass. There are things on reddit that there are no replacements for. Lemmy doesn't hold a candle to the user base of reddit. The standard is simply "is this useful to me" and it's not hard to understand why people find value there.
Fucking holier than though dipshit.

My idiocy is on full display. Thanks for the correction.
And you wonder why things are the way they are...
