Even though the riot has been questionable in terms of goals and it's character, it's been insanely funny to see liberals going mask off everywhere because property damage, especially on reddit and twitter. Really shows where their priorities lie

Must be nice to live in a world where you don't need to worry about where the money is going to come from to rebuild a building that was burned down.

Here in the real world, we understand the fallacies around broken windows, we know that resources used to fix the damage are resources that won't be used for making things better. Instead of building housing for the homeless (or anything else you could imagine that would make people's lives better) they will need to spend resources to rebuild their town hall instead.

This is an action that hurts government services, but I guess you're pretending it's some kind of socialist victory to do that?

There's a significant probability that there was foreign influence involved. Foreign actors seeking to make life worse for people in countries they consider to be their adversaries are always pushing people to burn things down. The end result is whatever movement does this loses all credibility and things get a little worse in the target country.

Nobody in France benefits from this action.

They won't spend the money to house the homeless anyway. The money is being siphoned by the right from the people to the capital.

Either you know enough of French politics, and know they're getting butt fucked by the private sector, or you don't and you can just stfu.

I’m privilidged and the building was helping me with my privilege through the state. Why would a bunch of under represented underprivileged people destroy a building that wasn’t helping them and most likely actively hurting them? Don’t they care about the fact I have to pay taxes to fix the building that was only helping me and other privileged folks?

Moralists should go defend these structures more ardently before they come online and cry about it.

The falacy of broken windows is bullshit.

The windows maker gets paid so he can feed his family. I'll take that over some bullshit tax relief any day.
