Anyone here playing Step-On-It on the Steamdeck with bluetooth controllers in local multiplayer?

I cannot get the game to recognize both my controllers. I got an 8bitdo lite and an 8bitdo pro 2, they both work fine in tons of other games.

Step-on-it only recognizes the Steamcontroller (the deck itself) and the 8bitdo lite by name, I cannot select the 8bitdo pro 2 somehow, even though it is connected and working. The steamcontroller works fine when selected, just not practical when I want to use the deck docked.

I am running the linux native version, if that matters, happy to try the windows version if it can help. I have set controller order as 1) 8bitdo pro2, 2) 8bitdo lite, 3) steamcontroller.

A few things to try:

  • You can disable steam input for the game from the game's steam menu. You might be having some kind of clash between steam input managing the controllers and the game trying to read the controllers directly

  • Another possibility is that I think the pro 2 has different input modes (switch, xinput, apple, etc). It could be that the controller mode is something supported by steamOS, but not the game's direct controller support.

Thanks, I'll try these. Regarding the second point, I think I had both controllers switched to a similar mode, but need to double check.
