This is the one underlying factor that has killed any respect I used to have for my country's copyright laws. Ideally I would want the creative talent to get ownership of their work and all the legal protection that would entitle them to, but we're already seeing how the laws are being flaunted for the sake of these AI chuds openly practicing the sort of "piracy" that people who are only sharing their files with no real profit incentives take the heat for

We feel similarly about this topic. You might look into donating to one of their unions. I donated to SAG for a long time in lieu of paying for Netflix et al. The money doesn't go directly to artists but it does help keep their posture strong in negotiations and strikes. Of course I'm piss broke now, but it felt nice to contribute materially while it lasted.
