You skipped the whole prophecy thing. But….

He becomes a friggin worm?!?!?! How?!????

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (3 children)

No space prince doesn't become a worm.

Space prince's son does.

Woah. That’s even more mind boggling! Is that the son he has with his once-lover-turned-concubine-for-political-expediency Chani?

How does a human become a worm?!

Bro spoilers for Children of Dune but we have a spoiler tag:

spoilerSandworms are a metamorphosis of groups of sandtrout surrounding and consuming pockets of water. Humans have a good bit of water in them, they can sense it easily in the desert. So he lets himself get 'consumed' by sandtrout, using his bene jesserit skills to force his bodies composition to accept it as a symbiosis. It starts out as basically an armored exoskeleton with the durability of a sandworm, and he grows into a much more sandwormy being.

Yup. Oddly was just reading up on this.

Wormson achieves immortality without freedom so the surviving humans can never be entirely controlled after 3,500 years of controlling humanity himself.
