Getting right to it, the game will be sold at retail for both platforms in Europe and Japan. We’ve been monitoring the situation in North America, but it’s safe to say at this point that it’ll be digital-only stateside. The good news is that importing is an option as always.

We’ll also mention something else that many will be disappointed to hear: Tales of Eternia Remastered is a game-key card on Nintendo Switch 2. In contrast, the Nintendo Switch version has everything on the cartridge.

Kind of stupid to have a normal switch version, but for switch 2 a game key card.

Agreed, but I'm guessing the Switch 2 version's 4k textures would have meant having to use the expensive, hi-cap cards.

Don't think that game will be that big, currently listed in nintendo eshop with 61MB. That's for sure wrong. But alone the speed of the switch 2 cards is more expensive.
