Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Solus mostly has just a skeleton crew left after the creater, Ikey Doherty, abandoned it suddenly. I personally didn't think it'd be around long-term even before this new policy.
The "skeleton" crew has managed just fine in recent years. Tooling development is still going strong. New contributors keep coming every year. It looks fine to me.
The last time I investigated Solus, there seemed to be difficulty getting a new ISO out (which admittedly was quite a while ago). However your AI policy announcement even says to bear in mind Solus is a "small team" (I assume to justify the use of AI?).
do bots have skeletons?
