Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I wouldn't call myself a distrohopper, but over the last 30 years I've daily-driven Slackware, Gentoo, Ubuntu (and derivates), Manjaro and now landed on EndeavourOS for the last four years.
I enjoy the vast and up-to-date software that pacman and AUR have, but I don't really need the exercise in system installation/building any more. So EndeavourOS it is.
I've tried OpenSUSE and NixOS on virtual machines from time to time. I like, but I feel they'd be in the way for my computing needs at the moment.
