Does flat not mean level?
There are a few different flat earth hypothesis. One of them is the great ice wall, a wall of ice ringing the flat earth, which is what keeps the oceans on the earth
I'm pretty sure that's what the comic is referencing, an expedition that got to the other side of the ice wall

Nope. They have similar meanings tho. Flat means no bumps, level means not askew. Picture a flat surface that is at an angle. A ramp, if you will. It's not level, but it's flat.
I'm sure curved things can be level too, but I'm not a woodologist
