I've always suspected I was born a left-hander but my parents forced righthandedness on me. Whether it was bowling, baseball, or golf I always naturally started doing it the lefty way until I was corrected. Hockey is the only thing I continued doing lefthanded.

funnily enough "corrected" comes from words such as "recht" which means right

so they really did correct you

Borrowed from French correct, from Latin correctus (“improved, amended, correct”), past participle of corrigere, conrigere (“to make straight, make right, make better, improve, correct”), from con- (“together”) + combining form of regō, regere (“I rule, make straight”)
