Additional hilarity: The German Federal government, i.e. the jurisdiction under which Ursula von der Leyen resides, would be directly affected. They literally have their own Mastodon server: https://social.bund.de/. It _will_have to support the KIDS Act, regardless of whether or not kids (or anyone who isn't part of or tied to the German Federal government) can make an account there.
They should address to Uschi and tell her that if they can't implement what she wants with taxpayers' money, then thousands of spare-time, hobbyist admins can't possibly implement it with their own money either.
The German Green Party has its own Mastodon server, too: https://gruene.social/.
The German public broadcast service has one: https://ard.social/.
But corporate Germany is stuck in the early 1990s technologically. Most politicians are stuck in the 1980s at best. And many want to go back at least to the mid-1960s.
