The DPRK's 20x10 policy is literally this and it's amazing the amount of progress they've achieved.

Capitalist work being a constant antagonistic relationship of overwork and exploitation is ironic in retrospect considering how China has become the world's factory while still eliminating poverty. The working class works so hard only to get half of what they had before because every aspect of their life is in debt to something or someone.
