TL;DR
Don't know if it'll be enough to improve overtaking. Remains to be seen.
Fun fact, 5/6 are already altered from the original plan, where it was basically just a big braking zone and a 90Β° turn to then dive under the bridge. There's a mod of that version for rFactor and Assetto Corsa, and I've lost many a gamble to keep the speed and not bump into the outer wall of the tunnel on the exit. The chicane is a big improvement over that, especially since there's barely any run-off there.
I would, however, look into the trampoline curbs, irrc in this very chicane.
Also surprised that no one binned it into the wall at the exit of T17, likewise plagued by attempts to go as fast as possible without meeting the wall head-on.
